BRIEF: Laurel man arrested after using Skype to announce bomb threat

Nov 13, 2012 (Laurel Leader - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Laurel man was arrested Saturday after allegedly using the Skype computer communications network on a private computer to threaten to detonate a bomb in a shed to harm himself and others.

Anne Arundel County Police identified the man as Aaron David Wyatt, 24, of Barbersville Road.

Police pinpointed the 400 block of Barbersville Road in Maryland City as where the Skype-broadcast threat was originating and found Wyatt in a shed, using Skype and, according to police, making what was thought to be a bomb.

Police removed Wyatt from the shed and fire explosive investigators from the county's fire marshal division determined the device Wyatt was creating was a fake bomb.

Wyatt was charged with phoney destructive device and threat/arson.
