Austco submit Tacera Nurse Call for UL1069

Austco Communications, a leading manufacturer of IP based Nurse Call and emergency response systems since 1986, has announced that their flagship product, Tacera, has now been submitted for compliance testing with UL1069 the United States standard for "Hospital Signalling and Nurse Call Equipment". The approval of Tacera will complement Austco's existing Medicom Nursecall System that received UL1069 approval in 2006.

Tacera is an advanced IP based nurse call solution for healthcare facilities that provides "plug-and-play" functionality. Calls may be displayed on pagers, DECT and VoIP based wireless telephones, quickly alerting staff that a call has been activated. Tacera's VoIP interface enables voice communications between nursing staff and the patient, without the need for third party middleware.
Additionally, clinical alarm systems, such as Patient Monitoring, Ventilators, IV Pumps and Stat Lab results may be integrated into Tacera allowing "one click" staff allocation for mission critical alerts.
Tacera features user-friendly and visually appealing patient call points, over door lights and multi-coloured annunciator displays. Combined with state-of-the-art microprocessor controllers, touch screen staff stations and nurse to patient two way speech facilities, Tacera ensures a rapid, effective and appropriate response to patient calls. Tacera's microprocessor flexibility allows systems to be tailored to suit particular needs with features such as call priority levels, tone alerts, colour designations, and pager allocations. In addition to using the latest paging and telephone technologies, Tacera also uses innovative data networking and ward swinging.
