(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Microsoft is negotiating to spend $1 billion to $3 billion in a leveraged buyout of Dell Inc.

Silver Lake Partners, a private equity company, intends to finalize a bidding group to take the globe's No. 3 PC maker private.

Silver Lake is a well-known investor in technology firms. The equity group was part of the syndicate that sold the online video-chatting service, Skype to Microsoft for $8.5 billion nearly two year back.


Microsoft relies on personal computers like Dell to help sell its software products.
